Individual Counseling for Adults with ADHD

I help adults with ADHD heal from the past, find peace in the present, and hold hope for the future.

What does ADHD-focused psychotherapy look like?

We'll work together to BUILD AWARENESS by understanding how ADHD influences your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—whether it's difficulty staying focused, managing time, or handling impulsivity.

We’ll work on SKILL BUILDING by learning specific techniques for organizing your day, improving focus, managing distractions, and following through on tasks. These can include strategies like time management, breaking tasks into smaller steps, and setting realistic goals.

We’ll address EMOTIONAL DYSREGULATION by developing tools to better handle stress, regulate emotions (anxiety and frustration are common), and build resilience.

We’ll use COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL TECHNIQUES (CBT) to explore the thought patterns that might be contributing to challenges (like procrastination, motivation, and self-criticism) and help reshape those thoughts into more positive and productive ones.

We’ll SUPPORT RELATIONSHIPS in your life by exploring how to improve communication and manage interpersonal dynamics.

ADHD-focused Psychotherapy can help you process your thoughts + feelings, identify patterns of behavior, and connect the dots of how ADHD has shown up (and continues to) in your life.

The general consensus is that the best practice for ADHD treatment is multi-faceted. Psychotherapy, coaching, and psychiatric care all offer unique approaches that can be beneficial.

Therapy is unique is that it’s an opportunity to explore the WHY and use your past to help understand the present and guide the future.

Unlike other types of counseling, ADHD-focused psychotherapy is a specialized form of talk therapy that helps ADHDers understand how their symptoms affect their daily lives. It focuses on incorporating skills and coping strategies to manage ADHD more effectively and feel more in control of your life.
